McCann's faith is important to him and he receives spiritual guidance at Beulah Missionary Baptist Church.
Education:
McCann is an alumnus of South West Atlanta's D. M. Therrell High School, where he graduated in the top ten percent of his class. At Therrell, McCann was grounded by lessons of accountability, dedication, and devotion to the community. McCann excelled outside the classroom with his involvement in student government, mock trial and the marching band. With the strong foundation he received at Therrell, McCann went on to earn to earn two Bachelors degrees from Georgia State University - one in Political Science and the other in Sociology with a concentration in Family and Life. While at Georgia State, McCann earned a place on the Dean's List and Faculty List and was inducted into the Sociology Honors Society. In May 2008, McCann will complete a Masters in Education, with a concentration in Secondary Education, from Grand Canyon University.
